About the Board Positions The two consuls lead the Northside Latin board, and keep the board together. They allow the Latin Board to run seamlessly, managing day-to-day operations. The Quaestor Scriptorum takes minutes during meetings, allowing for members to still know what happened at a board meeting even if they were unable to attend. They also post their minutes online at the Latin Club website for public access. The Quaestor Pecuniarum manages Northside Latin Club’s funds, including fundraising, general treasury duties, and approves spending of Latin Club funds. The Spirit Aedile leads spirit activities for conventions, primarily the Illinois and National JCL conventions. They create our spirit cheers, find spirit materials, and host practices before conventions to ensure exemplary spirit performance. The Service Aedile plans service activities for Latin Club, which have including Toga Caroling, Toga Treating (with UNICEF), and other service activities. The Praetor Peregrinus manages publicity for Northside Latin Club, creating posters and flyers for Latin Club events and fundraisers. They also create the publicity binder for the National JCL convention. The Praetor Urbanus amends the constitution as voted upon by the board, and if necessary, rewrites the constitution completely. They ensure that the constitution truly represents the regulations used by the Northside Latin Board in their duties, including elections and the responsibilities of board positions. The Censor manages the Latin Club library and website, updating the website with information, revising it with new information, and redesigning it as necessary to meet standards of styling and organization. The Tribunes serve as liaisons between the Northside Latin Club Board and the Latin I students, representing their needs and providing Latin I students with information from the board, keeping them up to date with board activities and fundraisers.
